PSDA is an Act 48 Provider

To members of the PA speech and debate community who wish to receive Act 48 credits through PSDA:

 1.         Please make sure that your dues for PSDA are current.  You can go to the Web site – www.PASpeechAndDebate.com for the membership form.  If you are joining PSDA at the same time as sending Act 48 hours to be submitted to the state, make sure to send your application with your hours to one of the addresses listed at the end of this letter.

2.         Due to time constraints, all Act 48 hours must be submitted to PSDA from any tournament directors and / or individuals who request credit within 15 days after the tournament.

3.         Please make sure that all forms are complete.    The state will not accept information from PSDA unless all requested information is provided.  All signatures from tournament directors must be included!

4.         People working in the tab room get credit.  Please see the information for tournament directors to read the details.

If you are interested in joining PSDA so that you can get Act 48 credits for judging at speech and debate tournaments, you need the following forms:

• PSDA Membership form
• General Information form

If you are hosting a tournament, you will need the following forms: (estimated number of copies)

• Tournament cover page - 1 copy
• Tournament director page - 1 copy
• Educator signature page - 3-4 copies
• General Evaluation page - 12 copies
• PSDA Membership forms for people who may sign up for PSDA while at your tournament - 4 copies
• General Information form for people who may sign up for PSDA while at your tournament - 4 copies

Tournament Directors need to send all of the above with any checks from new PSDA members to the addresses given within 15 days of the tournament. There are no exceptions to this.

If you are going to a tournament that is out of state, you need to take the following with you:

• Out of state Act 48 page
• General Evaluation page

You must send the above to the address given within 15 days of the tournament. There are no exceptions to this.

If you are in charge of your district meeting at the beginning of the year, you need the following forms for your group:

• General Sign-In Sheet (Coming soon)
• General Evaluation page for district meetings (Coming soon)
• PSDA Membership forms for people who may sign up for PSDA while at your tournament
• General Information form for people who may sign up for PSDA while at your tournament
